When I started planning my renovation, I knew I wanted a home that felt like me. I had a few ideas, but I wasn’t quite sure how to bring them together. That was where Jasmine and Qi Xuan really helped. Both of them brought their own ideas and perspectives to the process, while taking the time to understand what I wanted.

What I appreciated most was how open and collaborative the experience felt. Jasmine and Qi Xuan are easygoing and approachable, and I never felt pressured to accept a particular idea. They listened to what I had in mind, built on my ideas and suggested creative ways to develop them. Whenever I was unsure, they explained how the different options might look and work in the space, which helped me make decisions with greater confidence.

Their creativity really stood out to me. Their designs are fun and bold, but there is always thought and intention behind every choice. I eventually decided to go with Qi Xuan’s design direction, while Jasmine continued to offer valuable input and support throughout the journey. Together, they took what I had in mind and turned it into something far more interesting than I could have imagined on my own.

I also appreciated their patience throughout the process. There were times when I changed my mind or wanted to explore another option before making a decision. They listened, made the necessary adjustments and gave me the space to think things through. Their patience made it much easier for me to feel confident about the choices I eventually made.

Once the renovation began, I never felt that I had to micromanage the project. They took care of the details, kept me updated on the progress and responded promptly whenever I had a question or feedback. Even when issues arose, they addressed them quickly. Knowing that I could trust them to handle everything gave me real peace of mind.

Renovation can be stressful, but Jasmine and Qi Xuan made the experience surprisingly smooth and enjoyable. I would wholeheartedly recommend The Interplay to homeowners who want a home that feels personal and a little different from the usual. This is the 4th place that I have renovated. Qi Xuan was engaged as the ID and I must compliment her complete professionalism and extensive knowledge in the industry. Her designs to cater to our ideas and living concept were fantastic as usual. Her reputation definitely precedes her. But to see the transformation from idea to digital design to physical creation up to the most minute detail is ecstatically jaw-dropping. She is rare and is definitely the best ID I have ever worked with.

She is always responsive and no questions were left unanswered. Even when serious issues arise, she resolves them with little to no impact for us. She goes above and beyond her duties as an ID to help us in various ways when we requested. She is organized, reactive, has great supervision and all her deliverables were met on time. Most importantly, my involvement in the whole renovation process takes up the bare minimum amount of time for me so that it is not wasted unlike some IDs from other company from past experiences. I feel secure and satisfied as I watch her work progress. Didn't feel the need to oversee or manage.

TLDR: Would definitely recommend this ID firm to everyone looking to renovate their place. Aside from the fantastic job they did, the most important is that they didn't run away with our hard-earned money.

The company is relatively new, but all three of the founder-partners have more than a decade’s experience in interior design. This really showed, as they were our eighth ID meeting and we decided to work with Jasmine and Brandon after two initial meetings.

The design process was relatively painless; we told them our likes and dislikes, and they would offer recommendations and proposed changes. What was important was that they could visualise what we wanted (for example, a bar table in the kitchen), something other IDs told us "no" to or tried to discourage us from having. We even named one of our IDs Mr No No because he kept saying No to everything we wanted. Jasmine and Brandon didn't completely discourage us, but instead offered opinions on how to ensure the space wouldn't feel cluttered.

They asked for our rather modest budget upfront, and I'm glad we didn't go over too much. Since we had to renovate the resale flat completely (it was a first-owner flat), we calculated windows and electricals separately to keep things clear. During the renovation itself, Brandon constantly visited the site and kept us updated on everything via WhatsApp with pictures. When we couldn’t make decisions (for example door knobs), he would offer a recommendation on which ones to choose.

During the handover, both Jasmine and Brandon were present to help us go through the final touch-ups. They were very meticulous in ensuring everything was in order before officially turning the place over to us.

Would I recommend them? A resounding yes, in a heartbeat.

I highly recommend Jasmine as an ID. She was very knowledgeable, calm, open minded and has a can do attitude. She offers good space planning suggestions and has impeccable colour sense and attention to detail. She encouraged me to ask as many questions as I needed and we collaborated well to make my apartment truly my own. She has solid relationships with her carpentry team and the various vendors for lighting, sanitary ware, aircon, electrician yet she’s not pushy about me taking on their services. My renovation was on time, on budget and so satisfying. I urge you to consider using her services.

I wanted to create my happy space that is dopamine, pastel, and colorful. I. came across The Interplay on their website and was at first hesitant to engage them because they are pretty new in the industry. However, I realise that most of the other players in the industry are also not familiar with the style I wanted so I decided to give The Interplay a shot.

I had a good time working with Qi Xuan who was attentive to my needs and my requests for adaptations. The process was very smooth and I escaped the horrors that often come with the interior design journey. Qi Xuan made multiple iterations of my room design and conscientiously ensure all my needs and requirements are met.

Now that I am sitting in my little happy space, I feel so happy and at ease. It is not only pretty but also functional, meeting my need for a space for make up, work, lighting, creative art gallery, extended table for art work and crafts and beautiful paintings.

I really feel so satisfied with the space and am thankful that because of Qi Xuan, I can literally shut off my brain during the process because there is someone to take care of everything. I think that really served the purpose of getting an interior designer. You leave the fretting and details to a professional.

I think it is worth giving The Interplay a try especially if you are looking for someone who is able to give you a novel design that scratches your need for stimulation, novelty and fun.

Jasmine helped to make our first-time home-reno journey a smooth sailing and reassuring one. Like many new home owners, there were many things we aren’t aware of or what to look out for especially in terms of HDB administrative side, but Jasmine took us through the process, helped us understand the different parts of the renovation journey and gave us a peace of mind.

When it came to design, we were planning for an eclectic look and feel with vibrant colours, Jasmine went above and beyond in sourcing for the different furniture parts and styles that will make the right fit. All so we can bring our dream eclectic home to life.

Even after the renovation whenever we have questions about the house, Jasmine is usually a text away and is always reliable and providing the answers/solutions we’re looking for.

I had very little time for renovation given an impossible work schedule. I thought it would be a nightmare having heard renovation horror stories. This overhaul of a renovation turned out to be extremely smooth as Jasmine really knew what she was doing, when to do what and a great planner. Very happy with Jasmin’s services. This is my second flat renovation and I can say it went without a hitch (unlike the first one). She was on the ball and made everything easy for us. We wanted something simple and functional but cosy and she was very helpful with suggestions and also on helping manage cost. If there was an issue she handled it very quickly. I’m very happy with this new flat, it’s very comfortable and easy to clean. I would highly recommend her. She knows her contractors and can save you a lot of trouble. We hardly needed to go down to the construction site to check… maybe once a week max. Her plumber and electrician are really good, I feel those two are really crucial. They managed the wiring and piping well under Jasmin’s directions. Most importantly everything was completed ahead of schedule! She really managed the timeline well. One of my friends originally contracted her and was happy with her work so he recc to me and now I would recc her to anyone I know who wants to do Reno.

Was recommended by a friend to Jasmine of The Interplay, and spent the past 6 months designing our new home with them. Jasmine is pleasant to work with and does her best to execute your vision for the house. She is responsible in advising things that a first time homeowner may not know, so that you can account for that in your decision making process. The workmanship is, on the whole, of good quality given our budget, and it has been really nice to move in and enjoy the house.

After the reno is done, there will inevitably be bits that need to be touched up or refurbished. It can be a stressful process but Jasmine does her best to suit your schedule and to schedule various contractors to deal with the needs in a timely manner. I appreciate that a lot!
